Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about us.
I’m Shaun Hardman, founder of Hardfell Ltd.
Like many arborists, my journey didn’t start with chainsaws – it started with ropes.
Growing up through Scouting, I developed a passion for climbing, abseiling and the outdoors. Before entering the arboriculture industry, I worked as an outdoor instructor teaching rock climbing and abseiling. One day I watched an arborist dismantling a tree and thought, “That’s exactly what I want to do.”
That decision changed my life.
Today I’ve spent over 18 years working in arboriculture, and Hardfell has proudly served the Auckland region for more than 10 years.

When I started Hardfell, the goal was simple.
Do quality work.
Turn up when we say we will.
Treat every customer’s property with respect.
Leave every site cleaner than we found it.
That philosophy hasn’t changed.
Over the past decade we’ve grown from a one-man operation into one of Auckland’s trusted arborist companies, completing work for homeowners, businesses, schools, body corporates, contractors and local authorities.

And sometimes removal really is the safest option.
We’ll always give honest advice based on what’s best for the tree, the property and the people around it.
